Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant/Administrative Assistant for a client in Laurens, SC! This person provides a broad range of accounting, administrative, and clerical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the client's business functions. Under moderate supervision the position assists with day-today financial activities, maintains accurate records, supports staff, and helps coordinate office operations. This is a Direct Hire role!

Duties: 

  • Prepare and process accounts payable in a timely manner. This function requires coding and posting of invoices, processing receiving slips, verifying quotes on purchase orders
  • to invoices, printing and preparing checks and other disbursements weekly.
  • Prepare and process the annual completing of IRS 1099 forms for the client. vendors and Board of Directors. Responsible for reconciling year end.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules. Responsible for scanning support documentation into the system.
  • Prepare and responsible for the accurate completion and filing of Sales and Local Tax
  • Returns to South Carolina Department of Revenue on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and audit preparation.
  • Process expense reports and maintain accurate financial documentation.
  • Monitor and record the client's credit card usage and employee reimbursements.
  • Other Administrative duties assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of accounting or administrative experience, preferably in a utility, cooperative, or nonprofit environment.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
